Mold is a living organism. It needs a conducive environment which includes a feeding source and wood and sheetrock are perfect. Pictured above is mold growing on a wood ceiling in a basement at this home in Dallas. In this instance our technicians needed to remove the visible mold within the home by removing its feeding source. However, just because the visible mold is removed does not necessarily mean that its completely remediated. The visible mold is simply the gasses that the actual organism expels and is spread via the air. By sealing the framing (after picture) ensures that the mold cannot spread and it literally suffocates it to death.
