But what is meant by specialty cleaning? I define it as any situation which requires outside help to alleviate it. Recently we were called to help a family who had a cat urine issue which caused the home to become dangerous. Cat urine is a particularly difficult odor to remove because it embeds itself into soft materials like wood, sheet-rock and furniture causing the odor to persist even after wiped clean. In this instance, SERVPRO of Hazleton/Dallas/Harvey's Lake sealed the hardwood flooring trapping the odor inside. With the help of a hydroxyl generator and a through cleaning and disinfecting we we were able to make the home safe again. This week we received a telephone call from our local police department regarding a "specialty" cleaning project which they did not want to address. A person they arrested who was suspected of having some dangerous diseases, bled in the police car as well as a holding cell.
